How-to retrieve your homescreen wallpaper
Ever lost picture of a kitten, or of a loved one that you had set as wallpaper on your phone, but had forgotten where the original was found? No matter the reason - here is how to retrieve that image again without any hassle using the Android app Wallpaper Saver.
There are currently two ways to retrieve your wallpaper; root your phone or use an app. Rooting your phone can give you access to the file system that contains the wallpaper image, but it is cumbersome and not something everyone wants to do (read more about this here: LifeHacker guide on rooting your Android phone).
The other, much easier, way is to use the app Wallpaper Saver. It is actually used for saving and keeping a backup of your wallpapers, but can also be used to retrieve the current wallpaper!
How to steps
Install Wallpaper Saver
Launch the app and wait for it to save the current wallpaper
Select the current wallpaper
Pick share in the action bar
Send it to yourself in an email or upload to e.g. Google Drive or Dropbox
Bonus. To completely avoid the issue in the future it is possible to enable syncing with Dropbox in the app, which will then keep a backup of your wallpapers.
